
 This is a list of technical riding areas. There are tons of trails in KS but we don't roll boring stuff. So here's where it's at:

Manhattan, KS. Singletrack with a few bridges and some dirtjumps. Location: In Manhattan, take Hwy 24 east. Before crossing the Big Blue River bridge turn right into the gravel parking lot. Follow the sidewalk south under the railroad bridge and the trail veers off to the left and into the woods. Ideal bike-dirtjumper, trail bike, all mountain or big rig. Distance: 4 miles out and back. Ride time: 12 minutes or up to about 4 hours! Surface: wood structures, hardpack dirt and sandy loam, it dries fast!

Manhattan, KS. Singletrack, doubletrack, dirtjumps, drops. Watch for motos. Location: 4 miles north of Manhattan. Take Hwy 24 north out of Manhattan. Turn right onto Hwy 13 and drive across the reservoir. Turn right onto Dyer Road. Turn right at the Spillway Cycle Area sign. Ideal bike- dirtjumper, trials bike or big rig. Distance: Varies depending on what you're there for. Ride time: 1 to 3 hours. Surface: rock strata and dirt (stays greasy after a rain).

aka "urban" in the forum. Location: Meet at City Park east of Arts in the Park stage. Town riding has its own collection of technical riding. Ideal bike- hardtail or trials bike. Distance: Varies. Ride time: up to 3 hours. Surface: concrete, metal, etc.

Manhattan, KS. Half pipe,s rails, box jumps. Location: In west Manhattan near Wreath and Kimble Avenue on the east side of Cico Park. Ideal bike- dirtjumper or hardtail; Distance: ???. Ride time: as long as you can handle it. Surface: concrete and metal

Manhattan, KS. There are ledges and things to ride at the top. Going downhill, it's steep with switchbacks and stairsteps. Very short and steep with loose surfaces. This is a hiking trail but is not off limits to biking so tread lightly and keep it legal! Location: In central Manhattan. Go to the top of the hill that has the MANHATTAN letters on it. From the parking lot ride east. The trail goes down the east side of the hill. Ideal bike: all mountain or big rig; Distance: less than a mile if you ride up and down. DH section is only a quarter mile. Ride time: 10 minutes to climb up, up to 30 minutes to play on top, 1 minute or more to get down. Surface: concrete, dirt, wood chips, railroad ties, rocks.

Randolph, KS (Fancy State Park). Somewhat tight singletrack, moderate climbs, great views, few rocks, etc. Location: About 20 mile north of Manhattan. Drive north on Hwy 24 which turns into Hwy 77. In Randolph, turn right onto Hwy 16. Turn left before you cross the lake bridge. Refer to the posted trail maps available in the park. The $6 fee is for camping only. Ideal bike- hardtail. Distance: 5.5 mile loop. Ride time: 30 minutes to 1 hour. Surface: dirt and rock strata.

Randolph, KS. Super rocky DH lines, rock ledges, singletrack, jumps and jeep trails. No lift access. Location: About 20 miles north of Manhattan. From Manhattan, take Hwy 24 north. It will turn into Hwy 77. Just before the town of Randolph, turn right onto County Road 893. Drive about a 1/2 mile and turn right at the ORV sign onto Seacrest Rd. Take the gravel road 2 miles to trailhead. Ideal bike- big rig. Distance: varies, usually a few miles. Ride time: couple hours of riding wherever you want to go. Surface: rock stata, dirt and more rocks.

Topeka, KS. Bmx track. Location: In southern Topeka, traveling on I-470 turn off onto Gage Blvd and go north. After a few blocks turn left onto Shunga Drive (see the Heartland BMX sign?) Drive a few blocks and turn left. You can see the starting gate just south of the parking lot. Ideal bike-bmx cruiser or dirtjumper; Distance: about 350 feet. Ride time: as long as you can handle it. Surface: hardpack dirt

Topeka, KS. Concrete skatepark. Location: West of Billard Airport. In northern Topeka turn off Topeka Blvd and go east on Morse Street. This will turn into Sardou Avenue across the river bridge. The park will be on your left (to the north). Ideal bike- hardtail or dirtjumper; Distance: ???. Ride time: as long as you can handle it. Surface: concrete

Topeka, KS. Concrete skatepark. Location: South of 21st and Washburn. On the east side of the street. Ideal bike- hardtail or dirtjumper. Distance: ??? Ride time: as long as you can handle it. Surface: concrete

Lawrence, KS. Rocky singletrack, moderate climbs, rooty and long (15+ miles, one way). Location: West of Lawrence, take K-10 Hwy, exit onto Clinto Parkway (N. 1400 Rd.) Turn and go west a short distance. At the T intersection go north on E 900th Rd. Turn left soon after onto N1402 Rd. Trailhead is near in a parking lot. Ideal bike- all-mountain. Distance: 15+ miles out and then ride back to the car from as far as you made it. Ride time: at least 30 minutes up to several hours. *The Kansas Trails Council has added a skills loop near mile 12 or campground #3 with many elevated bridges, skinnies and technical obstacles. Surface: dirt, rocks, wood structures

Ft. Scott, KS. Singletrack, dirtjumps and northshore-style riding. The park is a jeep park with an added freeride trail and park. $5daily fee is required Location: . Drive 5 miles west from Ft. Scott on Hwy 56, turn right onto Union Street. Drive 3 miles north and turn right onto Tomahawk . Follow Tomahawk East 1/2 mile to 130th. Turn left onto 130th Street and go North 1/2 mile to the front gate of the park. Ideal bike- all mountain. Distance: ???; Ride time: ??? Surface: dirt and wood structures. Park info

Topeka, KS. Singletrack, fast switchbacks and whoops. According to rumor, freeride structures are to be added here! Location: East of Highland Park High School East on 25th off of California Ave. Ideal bike: ??? Distance: 8 miles; Ride time: ???; Surface: dirt
